From time to time HID will release a driver or firmware update. It is recommended that customers update to the latest Firmware and Driver versions to reduce the chance of issue.
To update the driver and firmware on a Fargo HDP6600 or to check for updates, follow the below steps.
On your PC, go to: Settings -> Devices & Printers ->
Select the HDP6600 Printer and then go to ' Printing Preferences'
Click on the Advanced option.
Next Select the 'Utilities' tab at the top.
Click on 'Update Manager'
Then click on 'Check for Updates'
At the bottom, Select the printer you wish you update - Typically you will only have one HDP6600 installed on the PC.
Select the Check box ' Update to most recent version from HID Global'
Click on the Begin Updating Firmware button.
This will take up to 2 minutes. At which time DO NOT turn off or unplug the printer.
The printer LCD screen will begin a timer. Once finished the printer will reset itself.
You can now exit out of the update manager.
